These terms cover the Geo Guesser iOS app and this website. They are intentionally short and written in plain language. By playing the game or using the site, you agree to them.
The game
Geo Guesser is a geography guessing game made by Manuel Escrig. You explore Street View panoramas, drop a pin on a world map, and score points based on how close your guess lands. It is meant for fun; please treat it that way.
Price and purchases
The game is currently free while in its launch period, with no ads. We may introduce paid content or change pricing in the future; if we do, purchases will be handled by Apple through the App Store under Apple's standard terms, with receipt validation by RevenueCat. Any purchase is tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on your devices via "Restore Purchases".
Accounts
Signing in (with Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In) is optional; you can play the whole game without an account. If you do sign in, you pick a nickname and avatar that may appear on public leaderboards, and you are responsible for keeping your nickname appropriate. We may rename or remove offensive, impersonating, or otherwise inappropriate nicknames from leaderboards. You can delete your account and its data at any time in the app under Profile > Delete account.
Game Center and leaderboards
Leaderboards are powered by Apple's Game Center and are subject to Apple's terms. Play fair: scores earned by exploiting bugs, tampering with the app, or automating play may be removed, and repeat offenders may be blocked from leaderboards. Beating your friends legitimately is not just allowed but encouraged.
Street View imagery
Panoramas shown in the game are provided by Google and remain the property of Google and its imagery partners. They are licensed for display within the game, not for extraction or reuse. Do not scrape, copy, or redistribute imagery from the app.
Acceptable use
- Do not reverse engineer, tamper with, or interfere with the app or its services.
- Do not abuse the website, its API, or the contact form (spam, automated flooding, or attempts to break things).
- Do not use the game or site for anything unlawful.
Availability and changes
We work hard to keep the game and its services running, but we cannot promise uninterrupted availability. Features may change, locations may be added or removed, and during the launch period leaderboards or game content may occasionally be reset or rebalanced. We may update or discontinue parts of the game over time.
No warranty
The game and website are provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties about accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Geography knowledge gains are likely but not guaranteed.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the game or website. If you paid for content, our total liability will not exceed what you paid in the previous 12 months. Nothing in these terms removes rights that your local law gives you and that cannot be waived.
Privacy
How we handle data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update this page and the effective date above. Continuing to use the game or site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
